Suggested Instructions

If this is your first or second episode of Bob and Kelly, start by watching the scene. Then click on Learn More to review the skills and their definition. Next, watch Dr. H's commentary. Finally, check your learning by playing the building blocks game.

If you've done a few of these, start by watching the scene. Can you spot any Crossovers, Insights or How/What questions. Then see if what you noticed appears in the Building Blocks game. Finally, how well does your analysis match Dr. H's?

Definitions:
Say it
Say what you want or feel, and your partner will be able to repond. If you hint or hope, or avoid talking about a senstive topic, the problem will only get worse.
Crossover:
Telling your partner what they think or feel. Instead, better to talk about yourself and ask about the other.
Insight:
Information about your own thoughts and feelings.
How/What Questions:
The best questions begin with how or what because they elicit the most information. A why question is more likely to lead to defensiveness.
